THE FORGOTTEN OFFICIAL GUIDE

John and Evelyn, after performing the ritual at Nighthomir, wake up in a dark and deserted location. It’s night. They suddenly notice something is off. They can’t use their powers. A terrible noise is heard in the distance as they figure out how to regain their magic through the Blazewing. A terrifying cloud monster emerges from the sky, threatening to devour John and Evelyn. They both start running for their lives as the creature devours those few leftovers of the place, looking forward to consuming Evelyn and John. They find refuge in an old dark shack. As they enter it, they silently wait some minutes before the creature leaves nearby. Once it does, John and Evelyn decide to explore the shank. As weird noises are heard, Evelyn starts to feel frightened. She takes John’s hand for consolation. As they navigate the place, a voice echoes from the dark. John and Evelyn get close to the agent, revealing something terrifying. An old man comes out from the dark. Half of his face is completely burned, making its bones visible. The man introduces himself as The Forgotten. He once was The Ancient of the Nightshadows before The Entity won the war against them and banished him to that dark and solitary dimension. The Forgotten also reveals the name of the dimension: The Nightmare Dimension. In this dimension, no magical power is allowed to be unleashed by magic wielders, making it nearly impossible to survive The Nightsoul. It’s always night in that dark dimension. It’s important to note that a magic wielder has created this place. Therefore, some mystical elements include plants, roots, and monsters. The Nightsoul is a mystical creature that protects something that The Forgotten believes is the ruler of The Entity. It’s a complex of dark magic and dust that flow in the air, devouring everything he encounters. He is considered blind as he only follows the noises. That’s why it is fundamental not to make noise. The Forgotten asks John and Evelyn to follow him, but they refuse to face the creature directly. The Forgotten advises that it’s dangerous to face it alone, especially with the incoming storm.
Nevertheless, John and Evelyn escape the shank, trying to make the least possible noise. As the sky becomes darker, a cold rain starts to pour over the place. The weather changes a bit. The wind blows strong as John and Evelyn try to carry on with their journey. Suddenly, a lightning shower takes place, forcing John and Evelyn to hurry up. As they start running and looking for repair, John gets struck by lightning, falling unconscious to the ground. Evelyn is terrorized and hopeless, but to her luck, a cave presents itself. Evelyn takes refuge in it, crawling back to John’s unconscious body. With a twist of despair and tears, Evelyn tries to revive John. She is about to lose hope when John takes a deep breath. Evelyn weeps with joy as an intense and beautiful kiss takes place between the two. With the situation partially under control, John and Evelyn wait for the storm's end to discuss their future. They discuss what they’ll do when they defeat The Entity, proposing ideas to share their fate. John reveals his blank, empty eyes to Evelyn—a testimony of complete trust in her. Over time, John learned how to mask this genesis with a cloaking spell. Suddenly, Evelyn starts convulsing as an intense headache ruins their beautiful moment. As she recoils, her eyes are filled with black magic. She looks possessed. John tries to take control of the situation, but Evelyn pushes him away. She starts convulsing, babbling things about John’s early past. This last gets close to her, noticing a black root is strictly linked to her ear. With bravery, John cuts the root with one of his Shadow Shards. He then takes the remaining out of her. Evelyn takes possession of his body back. The duo follows the journey as the storm is over. They reach a temple. Inside it, The Forgotten is waiting for them.
The Forgotten notices a black shade in Evelyn’s eyes. He says it’s The Root of Nightstand (also pronounced The Root of Nightsand), a powerful relic that grows in The Nightmare Dimension and can take possession of people. The root grows in the darkness, and it’s strictly connected to The Nightsoul and climbs until it reaches its host. The Forgotten also reveals how to defeat The Nightsoul. He says the creature possessed two cores inside it. Whoever gets in touch with them is forced to relieve its worst memories. As the three formulate plans, they are ready to face the mystical creature. The Forgotten uses himself as a shield after attracting The Nightsoul with multiple noises. As the creature attacks The Forgotten, this last shows incredible resistance against The Nightsoul, letting John and Evelyn get inside it. As they reach the cores, they fall back into their worst memories. John experienced the last time he saw his beloved little brother, while Evelyn witnessed the night she lost her mother before The Entity killed her. As they are inside a nightmare, a flick of hope appears in both, reminding them of each other. John and Evelyn are awake, ready to end The Nightsoul, when something grabs Evelyn’s leg: The Root of Nightstand. The root proliferates, twisting on Evelyn’s body. Conversely, The Nightsoul has devoured The Forgotten and is now chasing John. As the root is suffocating Evelyn and almost retaking control of her, she manages to take her sword and cut the root. As John has the Shadow Shards in his hand, they simultaneously stab the creature at its cores. The Nightsoul vanishes in dust as John and Evelyn fall side by side to the ground. In front of them, a spiral of light illuminates a purple-glowing place. Hand to hand, they get back up and follow the path.
